Aspen – GO

In the related articles you’ll see here, you’ll discover some great ways to really get a feel aspen-we-cycle-insideoutside-travelfor Aspen without spending a lot of money. But to see all of that, you need to be able to get around! Aspen makes that easy too.

Walk! Aspen is very pedestrian-friendly with wide sidewalks, sections closed off from cars (see our photo, above), streets that are on a grid and therefore easy to understand plus lots of nice residents more than happy to point you in the right direction.

Bike! WE-cycle is Aspen’s new bike-share program. Just locate a bike station, rent a bike and tool around to your heart’s content. Also, some hotels, like The Limelight Hotel, loan out bikes to their guests during their stay. You can also go on a longer, more adventurous ride. See Jimmy’s OUTSIDE section for those details.

Bus! The Roaring Fork Transit Authority (RFTA) goes around Aspen for free and to nearby towns for a small fee. It runs frequently and from many different points. There seems to always be one coming just when you need it.
