Charleston – GO

Walking around central Charleston is a pleasure and can be supplemented by Uber. Bicycle rentals are also available, but watch out for those narrow, cobbled lanes!

Public transit is provided by CARTA city buses. A day pass is $7, or 3 days for $14. It provides easy access throughout the historic core.

Rent a car to explore nearby beach communities, plantations and meandering Low Country roads. Horse-drawn carriage tours are a popular option to sightsee.

A major cruise ship port – consider taking a trip to the Bahamas or Caribbean after enjoying Charleston!Charleston Harbor Cruise Ship

Two major airports serve the region: Charleston and Hilton Head International. Charleston airport is the closest and offers cheap public transit (CARTA ) to the central city – only $3! Hilton Head airport, not terribly far, would require a car rental and the drive to Charleston offers an introduction to explore the Low Country.
