New Orleans offers plenty of lodging options, including chain hotels, mega convention complexes, and ritzy international hoteliers! We elected for adventurous and unique lodging options, like these:
AirBNB and VRBO offer lodging experiences with local host/owners. We enjoyed a home named “Ooh LaLa,” a deliciously decadent Victorian mansion in the Garden District with a private pool, antiques and funky charm.
Small boutique hotels and B&Bs abound all over, including the French Quarter; many offer lush courtyards and easy proximity to attractions. Hosted by friendly locals with a passion for their city.
TIP: For a quieter night’s rest, avoid tourist hot spots; instead, stay somewhere near a streetcar line for easy access to attractions but without the late night bar partying crowds, honking, sirens, etc.!
