St. Louis – SLEEP

There are plenty of affordable options to rest your head when in St. Louis. Two of them are casinos which shouldn’t be discounted if you aren’t a gambler. We’re not gamblers but it’s like a little glimpse into a different world to go there. The River City Casino and Hotel, for instance, is like a palace, with multiple restaurants (Cibare Italian Kitchen was our favorite) and great river views. The Ameristar Casino St. Charles is the like a whole city unto itself including the King Cat Club where we had another great dinner. The Ameristar is in St. Charles so if you’re visiting there, it’s a logical place to say. See our OUTSIDE section for details on St. Charles.

Or, you can go to sleep back in history at Boone’s Colonial Inn, located in charming St. Charles. The 19th Century inn has just a few rooms, beautifully decorated with eclectic furnishings and authentic charm like original wood floors.
